Matterform today released version 2.3 of Spamfire, the powerful anti-spam filter for Mac OS X. The new version adds a "Bayesian Pruning" feature that can improve speed and accuracy. The pruning feature lets users easily remove old and unnecessary statistical tokens from their Spamfire filters. Removing unneeded filters can help the remaining filters work better and faster.
Other improvements include:
- Better status reporting in the main window.
- A fix for importing IMAP accounts.
- Fixed some problems that could cause database corruption.
- Fixed some problems with keychain access.
The complete version history is available on the Matterform Web site.
Spamfire 2.3 is a free upgrade for all licensed users of Spamfire 2. Spamfire costs $39.95, which includes a 12-month subscription to the Spamfire Filter Update Service. Spamfire 1 users can upgrade to Spamfire 2 for a special price. A free demo is available at www.matterform.com.
