Connection Privacy

Spamfire will occasionally connect to the servers at Matterform to retrieve information that helps Spamfire perform well. Spamfire will transmit the version number you have installed and your license codes. No other personal inforamation is transmitted to the Matterform servers.

Here are the types of connections Spamfire will make to the Matterform servers:

• Version Checking - Spamfire checks every day for new versions of the Spamfire application program.
  
• Incompatability Checking - Sometimes certain systems might have third party software installed that may cause conflicts or problems in Spamfire. Every day, Spamfire will download a list of known conflicts and incompatible software. After the download is complete Spamfire will check your system and let you know if it finds any conflicting software. The contents of your hard drive do not leave your system.
  
• Remote Filters - During filtering, Spamfire may connect to the Matterform servers to activate the Spamfire.net Remote Filters. For more information you can read our Remote Filter Privacy Policy
  
• Verify Filter Subscriptions - If you have a filter subscription, Spamfire will connect regularly to verify it is still active. The only information transmitted to our servers is your license code, which is used to locate and verify your subscription
