Spamfire
retains a copy of every message it filters for you. The main Spamfire mail window
appears when you open Spamfire.
You can open the Spamfire Mail window at any time by clicking the Window menu at the top of the and then clicking Spamfire Mail. Or press 1.
You
can control what is displayed in the Mail window by clicking on mailboxes listed
in the Mailboxes drawer. You can show or hide the Mailboxes drawer by clicking
the Mailboxes icon in the Spamfire toolbar or by choosing Show
Mailboxes from the View menu or by pressing B.
You can also expand the view in the Mailboxes drawer to refine what is shown in the list. For example, you can choose to show Borderline spam email or Borderline good email.
You can also use the View menu to show All email, Good Email, Borderline Email, Spam Email or Other Email.
You can sort the Mail list by clicking on the header of the column you want to sort by. It is often helpful to sort the list by Score. The messages Spamfire is least certain about have a score close to 50. As the scores approach 1, the message is more likely to be good. As the scores approach 99, the message is more likely to be spam. More about spam scores.
You can tell if a particular message is spam or good by looking at its icon in the left-most column of the Mail list. You can tell if the message has been left on the server and/or picked up by your email program by looking at the icons in the second and third columns. See the complete icon legend.
You can find any particular message by choosing Find... from
the View menu or by pressing F. This will move the keyboard
focus to the Find field in the Mailboxes drawer. Type a few letters or words
and press return. All matching emails will be displayed in the Mail list. Spamfire
will search the from address, to address and subject of all email messages (it
does not search the body text). By default, Spamfire searches through all messages
except messages in the Spamfire trash. You can set different search options
by pressing the
icon that appears inside the search field.

The status bar appears between the toolbar and the mail list. It shows you what Spamfire is currently filtering. An indicator on the left side of the status bar shows whether Spamfire has successfully connected to the Spamfire Agent. Spamfire must be able to connect to the Spamfire Agent, installed on your computer, in order to be able to filter spam.
