The Spamfire Mail Window
The Mail Window is your main interface to Spamfire. You can show the
Mail Window any time by choosing Spamfire Mail from the Window
menu.

Features of the Mail Window
- The Toolbar appears at the top of the window
and offers easy access to frequent commands. Other commands are available
in the Message menu.
- The Mail list can show both good messages and spam messages that Spamfire
found on your Mail server. List icons indicate
what type of messages are displayed.
- Spamfire stores
good messages if it is set to do so on the Extra
Preferences. By default, good messages are not displayed in the
Mail window, but you can show good messages by choosing Show
Type > Good from the View menu. Here's why
you would want to do this.
- The Mail List displays the Spam
Score for each message. If you click the Score
list header, the messages Spamfire is least certain about will appear
at the top of the list.
Commands you can perform
- To open a message, double-click it.
- If a desirable message is in the Mail List, you can rescue
the message. If you regularly receive mail from this sender, you
can add them to your Friends List to ensure
that Spamfire accepts their messages in the future.
- If Spamfire accepted a spam that it should have intercepted, you can
locate the spam in the Mail list and take
steps to block the spam in the future.
- To delete a message, select it in the Mail List and choose Delete
from the Message menu. You can clear the entire list by choosing
Delete All... from the Message menu.
- You can sort the Mail List by clicking one of the list headings. If
you sort by Spam Score,
the messages Spamfire is least sure about will appear at the top of
the list.
- If you would like to see why Spamfire trapped a particular message,
you can check the message's Filter Violations.
